I wanted to replace my current kitchen tile floor with slate. I want the slate to be random/odd shaped and natural looking (like an outdoor patio). Can I purchase 16 x 16 slate tiles and break them for that look? I know I need uniform thickness so I can’t find what I am looking for. Also is it absolutely necessary to remove my base wall cabinets and put the floor underneath it?
