A kitchen remodel job is one of the most exciting processes a homeowner can go through. Especially if you’ve lived any amount of time with your current kitchen which could be dilapidated, outdated and in disrepair. You have to options each end of the spectrum, from doing it yourself, to full service companies that handle everything regarding your kitchen remodeling project.
This blog was started to help provide the kind of information and questions you might want to ask before you talk to a contractor. You’re going to have a lot to decide – reface the cabinets or replace? Granite counter top or formica, corian, or other. Appliance, flooring, plumbing fixtures, even lighting. It’s all got to be decided – but it aint exactly a bad problem to have.
Blogs like this are important for the consumer. Many walk into traps set by sales guy/closer for the contrators. We don’t operate that way but sadly we’ve seen some who do.

I wanted to replace my current kitchen tile floor with slate. I want the slate to be random/odd shaped and natural looking (like an outdoor patio). Can I purchase 16 x 16 slate tiles and break them for that look? I know I need uniform thickness so I can’t find what I am looking for. Also is it absolutely necessary to remove my base wall cabinets and put the floor underneath it?

As the cost of material is rising and the labor cost is also rising, so, people tend to buy more and more RTA (Ready To Assemble) cabinets. They have several advantages which increases their favorability over other types of cabinets. Such cabinets are available everywhere but choosing the right seller is most important. Remodeling of the kitchen is far easier with the available cabinets. You can choose from different colors, sizes, patterns, shapes so as to fit in your kitchen. Make sure you understand about remodeling before you go for it. In most of the cases a good remodeling agency will do the work for you and you just have to sit and relax. You just need to make sure that the materials used in remodeling are fine and of good quality. Remodeling is a work done once in many years and you cannot afford to redo it. So better quality products such as quality cabinets for kitchen
are very important.
DomainCabinetsDirect.com offers cabinet units which are ready to assemble (RTA). All wood kitchen and bathroom cabinets can make the bathrooms and kitchens beautiful. There are different style available such as Euro Frameless style: Merlot Birch, Golden Honey, Honey Birch and Antique Almond. All these can be used in different situation and in different types of kitchens and bathrooms.

A kitchen remodeling project is very fun because there are a lot of choices to be made. One thing to be careful of is who you hire. You can find tips on hiring a contractor on my site. You can also hire a contractor here.

I am a kitchen cabinet dealer in Arizona. I recommend working with a contractor that you feel comfortable with. With all the choices and decisions communication will be a key factor. Being able to work well with your contractor will help make your project an enjoyable venture. Note, if your contractor does not answer his or her phone it may be a sign of problems to come.

thanks. I think home owners should do as much as they can and leave the tough parts to professional home renovators.

Selection Center
in Nashville TN is a great resource for new kitchen design ideas. They have a huge showroom which really gives you an idea of what my kitchen could look like. Plus July 24, 2009, Selection Center was honored with being the only locally and privately owned finalist in the “Best Home Improvement Store” in the
The Toast of Music City Awards. This was voted on by Nashville individuals and not a paid promotion. If you’re in the Nashville area definitely check them out for your Nashville kitchen design ideas

I just wanna say that there is a silver lining to this economic downturn for some of you lucky folks. It’s an ideal time to remodel your bathroom, kitchen, lobby, drawing room etc… Because according to the New York Times, during the boom years, “Good contractors were as hard to get as celebrated doctors.” Their knowledge and skill are unchanged. And thus the due to the economy downturn the over all cost of renewal is decreased.

I love re decorating, but the problem is always that I have no place to put all my stuff while i’m doing it. I recently went online and found a storage unit. It solved so many problems! I’m glad i tried it!
